Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

DALLAS (AP) – O.J. Mayo scored 32 points, his second consecutive 30-point game at home, and the Dallas Mavericks used a fourth-quarter surge for a 114-91 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers last night. Mayo, one of a trio of Mavericks newcomers who scored in double figures, made six 3-pointers and capped his night with a running dunk with 1:18 left. He scored 30 in the home opener two nights earlier. LaMarcus Aldridge and Wesley Matthews had 20 points each for Portland.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Pete Carroll called it a textbook example of how the Seattle Seahawks want to close out a victory, with the ball in their hands and the final seconds ticking away. It only came after Carroll watched Adrian Peterson gash his defense for the entire first half. The Seahawks’ 30-20 win over Minnesota on Sunday snapped Seattle’s two-game losing streak and continued its run of success at home. Thanks to the running of Marshawn Lynch, overshadowed at times by Peterson, the Seahawks were able to control the ball for nearly the final 12 minutes, never giving Minnesota a chance to rally.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – Washington State has suspended star receiver Marquess Wilson for an unspecified violation of team rules. Team spokesman Bill Stevens could not say yesterday how long the suspension would last or specifics about why Wilson was punished by first-year coach Mike Leach. Wilson has caught 52 passes for 813 yards and five touchdowns this season. Washington State plays No. 17 UCLA in Pullman on Saturday.

SEATTLE (AP) – Oliver Perez is staying with the Seattle Mariners, giving them a left-handed specialist out of the bullpen next season. Seattle and Perez agreed Saturday to a $1.5 million, one-year contract. He was 1-3 with a 2.12 ERA in 33 games last season and had a stretch of 20 consecutive appearances in July and August where he did not allow a run. That streak was tied for the fourth longest in franchise history. Perez started the season at Triple-A Tacoma and was brought up on June 16.
