MILWAUKIE, Ore. (AP) – Police are investigating the death of a woman in Milwaukie as suspicious. Officers who were dispatched to the home day to check on the woman found her dead. KGW reports the woman was in her 60s, but her identity was not released. Police called in investigators with the Clackamas County major crimes team.

RENO, Nev. (AP) – A Portland man is recovering after losing traction on icy terrain and sliding down a mountain while snowshoeing at Lake Tahoe. Sheriff’s deputies say 50-year-old Brian Meek was hiking by himself and was near the top of Mount Tallac Saturday when he slid 400 feet and collided with a rock. The Tahoe Daily Tribune reports Meek suffered compound leg fractures.

SEATTLE (AP) – A judge in Seattle has found probable cause to hold a 30-year-old Beaverton man arrested after a weekend bank robbery. Police say Jeffrey Trask robbed a Wells Fargo Bank branch in north Seattle on Saturday, wearing what appeared to be an explosive device strapped to his body. He led officers on a chase until he crashed. After a brief standoff, the man was arrested for investigation of first- and second-degree robbery, first-degree kidnapping and attempting to elude a police vehicle.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Jurors say the city of Portland must pay a 27-year-old man more than $300,000 after police used a stun gun and pepper spray on him, punched him and piled on top of him before unlawfully arresting him for criminal trespass. The Oregonian says jurors decided yesterday that police falsely arrested Gallagher Smith after he quarreled with a nightclub doorman on Nov. 13, 2010. Jurors awarded nearly $16,000 in legal fees, medical bills and counseling. They also awarded $290,000 for pain and suffering.
