PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Snow has delayed the opening of school or altered bus routes in some suburban Portland and other northwest Oregon districts. The Oregonian reports schedule changes at schools in Washington, Clackamas, Columbia, Marion, Yamhill, Linn, Polk, and Benton counties as well as schools on both sides of the river in the Columbia River Gorge.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a pedestrian has been killed by a truck in southwest Portland. Officer responding about 6:30 a.m. today found the woman dead at Southwest Beaverton-Hillsdale Highway and Shattuck Road. The driver of the box truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – Washington County sheriff’s detectives are looking for the neighbor of a woman who was killed last week in a rural area near North Plains. Deputies say 50-year-old Robert Hardison is a possible witness in the slaying of Theresa Fronsman.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A Eugene charter school that ran into financial and academic problems will close at the end of the school year. The HomeSource Family Charter School agreed to drop its appeal of the Bethel School District’s decision to revoke its charter. The Register-Guard reports the charter school serves about 200 students.
