On the court last night… the Siuslaw Vikings fell into an early hole, battled back and trailed by seven at the half… but the Sutherlin Bulldogs pulled away in the third quarter for a 70-43 Far West League boys basketball victory in Sutherlin. In Myrtle Creek, #3 ranked North Bend squeaked by South Umpqua 44-41; and Brookings downed Douglas 61-42. The Mapleton Sailors were in action last night; they rolled over Mohawk 68-45.
For the girls, the number one ranked Sutherlin Bulldogs shut down the Siuslaw Viking offense early, cruising to a 41-24 Far West victory. North Bend edged South Umpqua 44-40 last night, while Douglas downed the Brookings-Harbor Bruins 66-51.
