SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A Salem woman who headed what was described as a rescue facility for hard-to-place dogs has been arraigned on 120 counts of animal neglect and one count of evidence tampering. Authorities say Alicia Inglish was arrested Sunday as Marion County deputies and Humane Society investigators removed more than 140 dogs from what they call deplorable conditions.

ALBANY, Ore. (AP) – An 8-year-old boy has been killed in a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 at Albany. State Police say an SUV with six people went off the road into the median Sunday night and rolled multiple times. Troopers say Yonic Guzman-Arango was ejected and died at the scene. His 13-year-old brother was hospitalized in serious condition.

SANDY, Ore. (AP) – A Clackamas County river rescue team searched unsuccessfully for more than four hours yesterday for a fisherman who reportedly slipped and fell in the Sandy River about six miles east of Sandy. Sheriff’s deputies identified the man as 18-year-old Joseph Deseranno of the Portland suburb of Milwaukie. Searchers said they’ll resume their efforts today if weather permits.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – A 23-year-old man accused of forcing a 17-year-old girl into prostitution pleaded guilty to lesser charges and was sentenced yesterday in Vancouver to 14 months in prison. Kenneth White pleaded guilty to unlawful imprisonment and bail jumping in a plea deal with prosecutors. Co-defendant Dorothy Phillips pleaded guilty last week. Court documents say White held the girl against her will at his Vancouver home and Phillips took her to Portland and Gresham last March for sex in exchange for money.
