MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – An 86-year-old southern Oregon man whose naked body was found in his front yard died of hypothermia. A Jackson County sheriff’s spokeswoman said yesterday there was power to Harry Henderson’s Medford home but the thermostat was turned off and space heaters had been unplugged. Deputies said the interior of the home was so cold that liquid was frozen in a few bottles that were left out. The National Weather Service said Monday’s low in the area was 21 degrees.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Canadian couple injured in an eastern Oregon bus crash that killed nine fellow passengers have filed suit in British Columbia, accusing the tour company of operating a defective bus. The lawsuit filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia on behalf of June Won Kim and his wife Hee Eun Kim also accuses the driver of speeding, failing to stop, ignoring traffic rules and knowingly driving a defective vehicle. Vancouver, B.C.-based Mi Joo Tour & Travel has been banned from operating in both Canada and the U.S. An investigation into the crash continues.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A Marion County sheriff’s spokesman says traffic on a road near Salem was blocked for about three hours yesterday after a worker clearing roadside debris found an inert World War II-era anti-tank projectile in a ditch. Officer Don Thomson says while this was a harmless training round, it’s important to report anything that looks like a weapon or explosive.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – An undercover FBI agent has testified that a terrorism suspect did not hesitate to say “yes” when he was asked if he was willing to kill children in a Portland car-bomb plot. The agent, identified only by a pseudonym of “Youssef”, testified yesterday in the trial of Mohamed Mohamud. Mohamud is accused of attempting to detonate a bomb at the Christmas tree-lighting in November 2010. The bomb was a fake, supplied by undercover agents.
