FOREST GROVE, Ore. (AP) – A Hillsboro police officer is charged with attempted aggravated murder in a shooting at his Forest Grove home that wounded a Washington County sheriff’s deputy who had responded to a report of domestic violence. Sheriff’s Sgt. David Thompson told KOIN the deputy was treated at Legacy Emmanuel Medical Center and released. His name has not been released. The Hillsboro officer is identified as 46-year-old Timothy Cannon, a 13-year veteran of the patrol division.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Passenger Rail Leadership Council is considering routes for high-speed rail travel in Oregon. The Register-Guard reports that there are four alternatives the 21-member group is looking at for the future route of passenger rail in the Willamette Valley. The group includes five city mayors, six legislators and transit officials from the state, Portland and Lane County. Their study is under way with the leadership council set to choose one of the four by fall of 2014.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police are looking for robbers who beat a man with a handgun and stole medical marijuana from a legal grow house in Portland. The victim was on the back porch of the house in the Montavalla neighborhood Sunday when he was attacked by two men who entered the house. They took pounds of processed pot and ran to a waiting car. The victim was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. A woman who was inside the house at the time locked herself inside a bathroom.

PRINEVILLE, Ore. (AP) – The Crook County sheriff’s office says a 13-year-old Klamath Falls boy was seriously injured in an off-road motorcycle crash Sunday afternoon near Prineville. The sheriff’s office says the boy and his father were riding in one direction when they encountered an oncoming motorcycle. Sgt. James Savage told KTVZ the boy was apparently startled and flipped his bike. He was airlifted to a hospital in Bend and then to Oregon Health & Science University Hospital in Portland.
