Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

CENTRAL POINT, Ore. (AP) – The Jackson County sheriff’s office is searching for a skier missing at the Mt. Ashland ski area. Fifty-two-year-old Carol Koon of Chiloquin was last seen yesterday afternoon when she told her family she was going to ski the “bowl” area on the mountain.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – A Eugene man accused of inappropriately touching a grieving foreign exchange student has pleaded guilty to sexual harassment. The Register-Guard reports that 52-year-old Ronald Norton was placed on probation and ordered to undergo counseling and pay restitution. Prosecutors say Norton and his wife were hosting the female exchange student. In October, the girl learned her grandfather had died. The couple tried to console her and the girl eventually fell asleep in their bed. That night, Norton allegedly touched the girl improperly and she fled. The girl is now with a different host family.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Beaverton family escaped injury when a minivan smashed into their living room. The Oregonian reports a 71-year-old man was driving the minivan that clipped a parked car, drove through a front yard and crashed into the front window of a house yesterday. Police say driver Dennis Lamm has a medical problem that caused him to drive through an intersection instead of turning. He was driven to a hospital. Three people were in the house.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Nearly 100 years later, two unmarked Oregon graves for a Civil War general and his wife, a volunteer nurse, have finally received official headstones. The Oregonian reports the couple doesn’t have any direct descendants so the nearly 40 people gathered at their gravesite on Saturday did not know them. The crowd came to honor Brigadier General Thomas Thorp and his wife, Mandana Thorp, and hear their story.
