COQUILLE, Ore. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the cause of a weekend fire at a Coquille feed store that killed between 75 and 100 chickens. The Coos Bay World reports that employees believe the devices used to warm baby chickens may have caused the Saturday night fire.

CORNELIUS, Ore. (AP) – A two-alarm fire destroyed the interior a log-cabin style home south of Cornelius over the weekend, displacing about 16 people. Firefighters tell The Oregonian that the property owner, renters and guests were in the home when the fire broke out, but no injuries were reported.

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) – Malaysian police are investigating the death of a pastor from Oregon found at his home with his hands and legs bound and a cellphone charger cable around his neck. The website of Rev. David Ginter’s Bridge International Church says he is from a farm outside Portland. He came to Malaysia in 2010.

ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) – Two Oregon state troopers have been placed on routine administrative leave after a 27-year-old St. Helens man was shot to death following a high-speed chase. Authorities say Josiah Fischer fled after troopers attempted to stop him Friday for a traffic violation.
