PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A Portland man who stripped naked during an airport security check last year says he expects the Transportation Security Administration will uphold its $1,000 fine at a May 14 hearing. John Brennan tells KATU that he plans to appeal to federal court.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Flags at Oregon institutions are flying at half-staff today in honor of a Bend soldier who was killed in Afghanistan. Gov. John Kitzhaber ordered the memorial to remember the service and sacrifice of 24-year-old Spc. Brandon Prescott.

VA VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – Wildlife agents captured a cougar early today in the backyard of a Vancouver, Wash., home. KGW reports the homeowner heard his dog barking, looked out the window and spotted the cougar in a tree. Another cougar has been sighted recently in Lake Oswego, Ore.

ALOHA, Ore. (AP) – A dispute over loud music in Aloha ended with the arrest of the man who complained. The Washington County sheriff’s office says the 40-year-old man told his neighbors to turn down their music yesterday and when they refused he lifted his shirt to display a gun.
