SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) – The NBA’s finance and relocation committees have met quietly by conference call and adjourned, apparently without making any new recommendation regarding the Kings and their future in California’s capital city. The Sacramento Bee says the committees, made up of 12 of the league’s 30 owners, talked yesterday ahead of tomorrow’s meeting in Dallas – where the NBA’s Board of Governors intends to resolve the issue of whether the Kings stay put or relocate to Seattle.

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) – Pierce County (Wash.) plans to ask other local governments and public agencies to help cover the cost of security for the U.S. Open in 2015 at Chambers Bay Golf Course near Tacoma. Deputy County Executive Kevin Phelps told the Lakewood City Council last week that the United States Golf Association expects local support for an event that will attract an estimated 235,000 people and a television audience that will introduce Chambers Bay and the region to a worldwide audience.
