Two Lady Viks have been named to the All State Softball second team. Siuslaw junior Catcher Ashlee Cole and senior utility player Lona Dengler. The Lady Viks ended the Far West League season with a sweep of North Bend May 10th, 3 and 12 in league play, with 6 and 20 overall.
If you were planning on attending Saturday’s NCAA Super Regional game between the Oregon State Beavers and the Kansas State Wildcats chances of grabbing a ticket are slim. Tickets sold out mere hours after going on sale Wednesday morning. Authorities say a limited number of single-game tickets may be made available to the public each game, dependent on the number returned, if any, by Kansas State. Any available will be sold at the Goss Stadium ticket office, which will open at 2 p.m. Saturday for the first game of the best of three series.
