PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a 15-year-old boy was stabbed when a group of people met to fight last evening at the Gateway Transit Station in Portland. The boy was taken to a Portland hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening. Officers located and arrested a 14-year-old suspect.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Police are looking for a possible suspect in a fatal shooting last night in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Gresham. Arriving officers found the victim. He was treated by medics but died at the scene. Witnesses told police a possible suspect in his 20s fled on foot through the apartment complex.

BEAVERTON, Ore. (AP) – Beaverton’s superintendent is getting a raise on the heels of school district budget cuts and the elimination of 344 teaching jobs. The Oregonian reports that with the 4 percent bump, 40-year-old Jeff Rose will make $193,000 a year – the second-highest school superintendent salary in the state. Some parents say they’re upset about it.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Back-to-back home runs in a five-run first inning sent Oregon State to a 12-4 win over Kansas State last night to force a decisive third game in the NCAA super regional series. The deciding game is tonight at 7:00 PDT.
