SEATTLE (AP) – Playing on a temporary grass field is the situation that will face the United States tonight when the men face Panama in a World Cup qualifier in Seattle. It’s not an ideal surface, but U.S. Soccer wanted to reward Seattle for the support it has shown for soccer in recent years with the Sounders in the MLS. The U.S. trails Costa Rica on goal difference and is ahead of Mexico on goals scored.
