Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – A woman who taught at Sherwood High School is accused of having sex with two male students. The Washington County sheriff’s office says 38-year-old Denise Keesee turned herself in yesterday at the county jail in Hillsboro. Deputies say the sexual contact occurred between 2006 and 2012 and detectives suspect more victims were involved. The sheriff’s office investigated the case because Keesee’s husband is a Sherwood Police officer who worked as the resource officer at the school. He is not under investigation.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon Senate has voted down a $6.5 billion budget for primary and secondary schools after one Democrat and all 14 Republicans said it didn’t provide enough money. The budget would have increased school funding by $1 billion and allowed most school districts to avoid cutting teachers or school days. Republicans are seeking steeper cuts in public-employee pensions.

MADRAS, Ore. (AP) – Some of the next generation of firefighting air tankers will be based at an airport in Central Oregon. The Bend Bulletin reports that Erickson Aero Tanker of Hillsboro now has two of its MD-87 jets based at the Madras Municipal Airport and will be adding three more by the end of the summer. The airport has one maintenance hangar for the planes, and will be building another.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Prosecutors have asked a federal judge to delay the sentencing of Mohamed Mohamud, the Somali-American convicted of plotting to bomb a 2010 Christmas tree-lighting ceremony in Portland. Prosecutors say they need more time to prepare sentencing recommendations and want a delay of 60 to 90 days. A jury in January rejected Mohamud’s entrapment defense.
