DALLAS (AP) – The Dallas Mavericks have ended up with Miami guard Shane Larkin after a pair of trades to move down in the NBA draft and clear salary cap space for a run at center Dwight Howard in free agency. A person with knowledge of the deals tells The Associated Press that the Mavericks got the son of Hall of Fame shortstop Barry Larkin with the 18th pick Thursday night after drafting Gonzaga center Kelly Olynyk (OH’-lin-ick) at No. 13 for Boston. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deals hadn’t been announced.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners will be flying the rainbow flag on Sunday during their game against the Chicago Cubs. A group called Seattle Out & Proud says the Mariners will be the first Major League Baseball team to publicly fly the gay pride flag. But Mariners spokeswoman Rebecca Hale says she cannot confirm that.

WASHINGTON (AP) – A person familiar with the situation says the Washington Wizards have traded 54th pick Arsalan Kazemi to the Philadelphia 76ers. The person says the Wizards traded the 38th and 54th picks to Philadelphia for Glen Rice Jr., who was taken 35th overall by the 76ers on Thursday night. The person spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the trade had not been announced. Kazemi averaged 10 rebounds per game for Oregon this season. He is a 6-foot-8 power forward.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The Portland Trail Blazers selected 6-foot-4 guard C.J. McCollum from Lehigh with the tenth pick in the NBA draft Thursday night. McCollum was an electric scorer during an abbreviated senior season at Lehigh, averaging 23.9 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. McCollum’s final college season ended on Jan. 5 with a broken foot.
