ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) – Kendrys Morales homered twice and tied a career high with six RBIs to lead the Seattle Mariners past the Texas Rangers 9-2 last night. Morales had a solo home run in the first and a three-run shot in the fifth off rookie Justin Grimm. The switch-hitter added a two-run single in the sixth to help Seattle win for the first time at Texas this season.

ROSEMONT, Ill. (AP) – Camille Little and Temeka Johnson led a balanced attack with 16 points apiece as the Seattle Storm snapped a three-game losing streak with a 69-60 victory over the Chicago Sky last night. The Storm shook off poor early shooting and an early 14-point deficit to catch and pass the Sky for a 34-31 lead just before halftime. Seattle maintained a double-digit lead through most of the fourth quarter.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Former Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Milton Bradley has been sentenced to nearly three years in jail for abusing his estranged wife. Los Angeles prosecutors say the 35-year-old was sentenced yesterday to 960 days in jail and also must perform 400 hours of community service. Bradley played 11 years with several teams including the Seattle Mariners.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) – The Phoenix Coyotes took a big step toward stability last night when the Glendale City Council ratified an arena lease agreement with a prospective owner of the franchise. The council voted 4-3 in favor on a 15-year, $225 million lease agreement with Renaissance Sports & Entertainment during a special session.
