SEATTLE (AP) – Hisashi Iwakuma won for the first time in over a month and the Seattle Mariners completed their first sweep of the season yesterday, beating the Los Angeles Angels 4-3. Michael Saunders hit a two-run homer and Raul Ibanez had an RBI double as the Mariners topped Los Angeles for the third straight day. Sluggers Josh Hamilton and Albert Pujols went a combined 1 for 8.

SEATTLE (AP) – Tanisha Wright scored 13 of her 21 points in the second half and Camille Little added 19 points and 10 rebounds as the Seattle Storm rallied to beat the Atlanta Dream 73-65 last night. Shekinna Stricklen added 10 points for the Storm in her first start. Rookie Alex Bentley scored 16 and Erika de Souza had 16 points and 14 rebounds for Atlanta, which only had eight players available.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Camilo scored two goals six minutes apart to lead the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Fire yesterday. Camilo leads MLS with 12 goals this season. Vancouver overtook the idle Los Angeles Galaxy for fourth place in the Western Conference.

NEW YORK (AP) – Seattle’s Hisashi Iwakuma is being replaced on the AL All-Star team. AL manager Jim Leyland of Detroit is swapping Iwakuma, who started yesterday at New York’s Citi Field, along with Tigers ace Justin Verlander and Oakland’s Bartolo Colon. The three are being replaced with Baltimore pitcher Chris Tillman, Kansas City closer Greg Holland and Oakland closer Grant Balfour.
