PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Fire has destroyed a five-story apartment building under construction and heavily damaged two homes in northeast Portland, but no one was injured. Fire officials say the building was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 4:15 this morning. The collapsing building nearly fell on a fire engine, but crews were able to move the truck out of the way in time. Every available Portland firefighter and piece of equipment responded to the five-alarm fire.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A woman who says she was molested in the emergency room at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center is suing the Portland hospital for $2.5 million. The lawsuit filed yesterday in Multnomah County accuses the hospital of neglect. The Oregonian reports the nurse accused in the incident last February, Jeffrey McAllister, was charged with sexual abuse and has pleaded not guilty. An indictment also says he sexually abused three other women in the emergency room.

PARMA, Idaho (AP) – A 72-year-old Oregon man has died after his SUV crashed into the back of a road grader in western Idaho. Idaho State Police say Bozcho Lettunich of Ontario, Ore., drove his vehicle into the rear the grader at an intersection yesterday. He died last evening at a Boise hospital.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A new official Oregon state road map is out. It includes new highway and interchange construction since 2011 and features updated city insets. The Oregonian reports free maps are available at visitor centers, chambers of commerce, DMV offices and ODOT offices. They also can be ordered online.
