Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

BEND, Ore. (AP) – The Deschutes County sheriff’s office says a six-hour standoff ended last night with the arrest of a man at a home north of La Pine. The man had fled from Oregon State Police Fish and Wildlife troopers investigating several dead deer in the area. He was wanted on a felony arrest warrant.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 44-year-old Pendleton man who worked as a Umatilla tribal police officer has been sentenced to 2½ years in federal prison for sex abuse. The U.S. attorney’s office says Fermore Joseph Craig Jr. pleaded guilty in August to abusive sexual contact with the victim and lying to the FBI. Craig was not on duty at the time the woman was abused in May on the reservation.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) – Federal prosecutors in Idaho say a Las Vegas man has pleaded guilty to stealing more than $124,000 from ATM machines in six western states including Oregon. Clarence Lancaster entered the plea in Boise yesterday to one count of bank larceny stemming from a break-in at an ATM on the College of Southern Idaho campus. The plea also resolves 21 separate ATM thefts committed by Lancaster.

GOLD BEACH, Ore. (AP) – Curry County voters are considering a property tax increase that could test a new public safety emergency funding law. If voters today approve tripling their county property tax rate – the lowest in the state at 59 cents per $1,000 valuation – it will raise $3.3 million for sheriff’s patrols, the jail and other law enforcement services. If not, county officials say they’ll talk to the governor about declaring an emergency.
