ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say two more men have been arrested in the killing of a Tri City man being robbed of his medical marijuana. The Roseburg News-Review reports that Lawrence Harper and David Lee Habblett were arrested in the Riddle area. Three other men already have been charged with killing William Joe Bruton, who was found dead Oct. 20 in his home.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Fire has heavily damaged a neighborhood bar, Pal’s Shanty Tavern, in northeast Portland. Fire and Rescue crews responded about 1:30 this morning to reports of an explosion and smoke. Firefighters called a second alarm to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby buildings. No one was injured and the cause is unknown.

ARLINGTON, Ore. (AP) – Gilliam County deputies say investigators believe a fire that destroyed a historic church in the Columbia Gorge town Arlington was caused by arson. A $5,000 reward is being offered for information about the fire at the Church of the Nazarene, the second there this year. The church was having the building repaired when fire broke out again on Tuesday.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Enrollment at Oregon’s seven public universities has leveled off after years of sharp increases during and after the Great Recession. The Oregon University System says more than 103,000 students enrolled for the fall term. Most of this year’s increase was at Oregon State University, where enrollment increased by 1,532 students. The state’s other large schools – the University of Oregon and Portland State University – had basically no change from 2012.
