PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) – Roberto Nelson scored 26 points and hit 11 free throws to help Oregon State beat Washington State 66-55 yesterday. Angus Brandt chipped in 14 points as Oregon State got its first conference road win. D.J. Shelton scored a career-high 24 points for Washington State.
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – Larry Nance Jr. had 20 points and nine rebounds to lead Wyoming’s 66-59 comeback victory against Air Force last night. Nathan Sobey’s 3-pointer with 3:59 left put Wyoming (12-6, 3-2 Mountain West) ahead 56-54, its first lead since the opening minutes. The Cowboys had battled for over 20 minutes to overcome a 15-point first-half deficit.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin has cleared league-mandated concussion protocol and has returned to practice as a full participant. Harvin was on the field for Seattle’s practice yesterday, his first since suffering a concussion in the second quarter of the NFC divisional playoff game against New Orleans on Jan. 11.
RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Seattle Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman took time to write a response letter to a 9-year-old deaf girl whose father sent her letter via Twitter to the Super Bowl-bound player. Coleman says he took time before the team walkthrough yesterday morning to write the response then took a photo and posted it to his Twitter account. Coleman is hearing impaired and has been since he was 3 years old. He says he regularly gets letters similar to the one he received from Riley Kovalcik.
