TUALATIN, Ore. (AP) – Tualatin firefighters have found a body after dousing the flames of a motorhome fire. Tualatin Fire and Rescue found the motor home engulfed in flames when they arrived early this morning. A spokeswoman told the Oregonian that firefighters found the victim inside. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – University of Oregon students were forced from two campus buildings last night because of a small fire. The Register-Guard reports the fire in Esslinger Hall was quickly extinguished by the building’s sprinkler system. Esslinger Hall and the adjacent Student Recreation Center were evacuated and closed for the night.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – A tiny minnow that lives only in Oregon has become the first fish to be taken off Endangered Species Act protection. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is to announce today that the Oregon chub is no longer threatened with extinction, 21 years after going on the endangered species list. The fish was threatened by draining swamps and non-native bass.

WASHINGTON (AP) – The Washington Wizards moved above .500 for the first time in more than four years last night, pulling away in the second half to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 100-90. Damian Lillard scored 25 points, and LaMarcus Aldridge had 20 to lead the Trail Blazers, who have lost four straight road games.
