GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – Oregon leads the nation in the percentage of kids entering kindergarten with non-medical waivers for vaccinations. State health officials hope a law taking effect March 1 changes that. Oregon is requiring parents to consult their family doctor or other health professional to qualify for a waiver of any of the vaccines against a dozen diseases required before entering school.

BORING, Ore. (AP) – The Clackamas County sheriff’s office says a man wanted on outstanding arrests warrants is in jail after he barricaded himself inside a Boring home Saturday night. Spokesman Nate Thompson said that deputies tried to stop 58-year-old Raymond Wilebski as he was driving in his car toward his home. He ran from the car into the home and barricaded the doors.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A 40-year-old man accused of a string of motel robberies in Oregon and Washington has been booked into Multnomah County Jail. Portland police say that Ernest Dean is accused of a string of Oregon robberies. Dean is set to be arraigned today in Multnomah County on robbery charges.

SWEET HOME, Ore. (AP) – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says it’s using a dye to test a new fish facility under construction in Sweet Home and some of that green dye may be noticeable in the South Santiam River. The agency says the dye will be released in early March, but an exact date hasn’t been set. The test will determine if the solution reaches the river.
