Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

HILLSBORO, Ore. (AP) – The rooster discussion was lively as residents of urban unincorporated areas of Washington County testified before commissioners voted on a proposed ordinance to ban the birds and other loud male fowl. The Oregonian reports that one Aloha resident said that banning roosters from farmland would be ridiculous. In the end, the move to ban roosters failed on a split vote.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – Oregon’s congressional delegation says federal liquor regulations threaten to undermine a new state law allowing the sale of wine in re-useable containers known as growlers. All seven members have asked the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau to reconsider its ruling that retailers filling growlers must comply with the rules that apply to wine bottlers.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Cover Oregon’s chief information officer, who worked to fix Oregon’s botched health insurance exchange since May, has resigned – the fourth exchange official to leave. The exchange said Aaron Karjala (KAR’-juh-luh) quit Monday, two weeks after Gov. John Kitzhaber told the exchange’s board to replace Karjala and chief operating officer Triz delaRosa.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Damian Lillard scored 34 points, LaMarcus Aldridge had 31 points and 15 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Los Angeles Lakers 124-112 last night. The Blazers’ fourth straight victory, coupled with Houston’s loss at Brooklyn, moved Portland within 1½ games of the Rockets for fourth place in the Western Conference and home-court advantage in the opening round of the playoffs.
