PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A federal judge threw out Oregon’s same-sex marriage ban, marking the 13th legal victory for gay marriage advocates since the U.S. Supreme Court last year overturned part of a federal ban. Many county clerks in the state began carrying out same-sex marriages almost immediately after the ruling, as jubilant couples rushed to tie the knot.

GRESHAM, Ore. (AP) – Gresham, Oregon, police have identified a man stabbed to death in an apartment. They say a woman has been arrested. Police say 32-year-old Stephen Markeith Delarose of California was found with fatal stab wounds. Detectives arrested 33-year-old Latoya Gilbert for investigation of murder.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The ex-husband of Oregon Senate candidate Monica Wehby called police to accuse her of harassing him as they were going through a divorce in 2007. A police report made public yesterday shows Jim Grant called police during an altercation in the couple’s Portland home. The report comes days after another report surfaced showing Wehby’s former boyfriend called police last year reporting that she was stalking him. Wehby’s campaign manager could not be reached.

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) – In Klamath Falls, federal workers are putting military conditioning and mindset to work on a new enemy: wildfire. A Bureau of Land Management fire crew is made up mostly of veterans. It was created in 2012 as part of a program funded by the Obama administration to put veterans back to work.
