Here is the latest Oregon news from The Associated Press

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Flags at public institutions in Oregon are flying at half-staff today in memory of two teens killed in school shootings. Gov. John Kitzhaber ordered flags lowered to stand with the family and friends of Paul Lee, who was killed at Seattle Pacific University June 5, and 14-year-old Emilion Hoffman, who was killed last Tuesday at Troutdale’s Reynolds High School.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) – Oregon State Police have arrested a Hermiston woman on a manslaughter warrant in a fatal, wrong-way freeway crash last March. State police say Alicia Breckheimer’s Cadillac was westbound on March 7 in the eastbound lanes of I-82 near Hermiston when it collided with a car driven by Robert Baker of Ione. Baker was dead at the scene.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a 46-year-old man accused of robbing a Columbia Bank branch in Bend has been arrested in Marion County. KTVZ-TV reports that Bend police say Gary Peterson of Mitchell was arrested late yesterday afternoon. The bank was robbed earlier in the day.

GRANTS PASS, Ore. (AP) – A southern Oregon prosecutor says workers at a Grants Pass business won’t be charged after they subdued an intruder who died while he was being restrained. An autopsy indicated that Jasen Robert Lewis likely died of asphyxiation last Jan. 21. Oregon law allows property owners to use reasonable force to prevent theft or damage to their property, or to arrest a person for a crime committed in their presence.
