Prep Volleyball Results

The Marshfield Pirates took firm control of the Far West Volleyball race last night with a three game victory over Siuslaw in Florence. Ali Scheer and Halee Richards were each a perfect ten-for-ten at the service line; Elyssa Rose had three stuff blocks for the Vikings who dropped into a 2nd place tie with Douglas. The Trojans beat Brookings-Harbor in four games last night; North Bend beat South Umpqua 3-1.

In the Mountain West League, the Mapleton Sailors won their fourth straight match; this one in three games over Mohawk in Marcola. Abby Boydstrom and Jewel Roby provided strong offensive play, Boydstrom had six kills and four aces; Roby had five kills;Katie Dearman added a dozen assists and five aces to five kills of her own. The Sailors can clinch a league playoff berth with at least one win their two remaining matches.

Prep Football Choices on the Air

It’ll be double duty on the air this evening for prep football on Coast Radio. The Siuslaw Vikings will be in Coos Bay where they’ll face the Marshfield Pirates at seven. The airtime on KCST is at 6:45. In Siletz, the Mapleton Sailors will face the Warriors at seven. That game will air on KCFM at 6:45.

Viking Harriers Run at George Fox

On the Cross Country course tomorrow the Vikings will be running at Willamette Mission State Park in the George Fox Invitational.

Pac 12 Football

On the college gridiron…. The #12 Ducks will be in Pasadena tomorrow where they’ll take on the 18th ranked UCLA Bruins. Kickoff is set for 12:30… the pregame show on KCST will be at 11. Oregon State has tomorrow off in preparation for a Thursday game next week against Utah.
