STANFORD, Calif. (AP) – Rosco Allen hit a key 3-pointer in overtime after missing all six of his free throws in regulation, Chasson Randle’s driving layin with 2.2 seconds left sent the game into overtime, and Stanford upset No. 21 Washington 68-60 last night. Robert Upshaw missed a pair of free throws for Washington with 40.2 seconds remaining in OT and the Huskies failed to score a field goal in the extra 5 minutes.

BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) – Josh Hawkinson had 18 points and 13 rebounds, Jordan Railey scored 17 points and Washington State beat California 69-66 yesterday for its first Pac-12 road win in nearly two years. Ike Iroegbu added 12 points including four free throws over the final 36 seconds for the Cougars, who won despite missing nine of their final 12 shots.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kobe Bryant will skip the Los Angeles Lakers’ game in Portland today to rest. Coach Byron Scott made the announcement before the Lakers’ home game against Indiana last night. The Lakers are trying to preserve the health of their 36-year-old superstar, who is in his 19th NBA season. Bryant skipped three straight games last month after feeling worn down.

EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) – Matt Hendricks scored a pair of goals and the Edmonton Oilers topped the New York Islanders 5-2 last night. Jordan Eberle, Derek Roy and Matt Fraser also scored for the Oilers, who won for just the third time in their last 25 games. Edmonton, however, improved to 2-0-2 in its last four games.
