Huskies dog the Beavers in Seattle

A short-handed Oregon State Beavers were unable to build on last Sunday’s upset of Arizona, falling 56-43 to the Washington Huskies last night in Seattle. Malcom Duvivier and Jarmal Reid led the Beavers with ten points each. The were without Victor Robbins who drew a ten-game suspension for violating university and athletic department policies.

WSU wins shoot out in the Palouse

The Cougars pulled away in overtime last night and Washington State held off Oregon 108-99 in a shootout in the Palouse last night. Joseph Young tied his career high of 32 points for Oregon, but three Cougars scored 20-or more points.

Oregon and Oregon State swap locations and opponents this weekend. Oregon State will be in Pullman tomorrow at six against the Cougars. Airtime on KCFM is at 5:30. Oregon will be Hec Edmondson Arena in Seattle against the Huskies at 5:30. The broadcast goes on the air on KCST at five.

Prep Basketball

The Far West League basketball schedule opens on the road this evening for the Siuslaw Vikings. The boys and girls will face Marshfield in Coos Bay. The pregame show is at 5:45… the girls tip off at six, the boys follow.

The Mapleton Sailors will be in Marcola tonight against Mohawk at six.

Nick Lutz Invitational

On the mats tomorrow; wrestlers from 16 different schools will converge on Siuslaw High School for the Nick Lutz Invitational. Wrestling begins at nine; finals are expected to begin by four.
