Prep Basketball

Preston Mitchell had nine points, Seth Campbell and Trent Reavis scored seven each, but the Brookings-Harbor Bruins held on for a 45-38 Far West Boys’ Basketball win over the Siuslaw Vikings last night. Elsewhere in the Far West League, the number one ranked North Bend Bulldogs beat South Umpqua 40-20; Marshfield pulled away from Douglas for a 56-23 victory in Winston.

For the girls, the number eight ranked Bruins proved too hot to handle for Siuslaw as Brookings came out on top 66-35. Elyssa Rose and Mikaela Siegel shared scoring honors with nine points each. The North Bend girls pummeled South Umpqua 73-20; Douglas beat Marshfield in Winston 45-42.

In Lowell, the Devils scorched the Mapleton Sailors 64-48. Tucker Ford led the Sailors with 21 points; Hunter Simington added 13.
