MESA, Ariz. (AP) – Scott Kazmir pitched 2 2-3 innings in his first spring start and the Oakland Athletics rallied to beat the Seattle Mariners 4-3 yesterday. Kazmir gave up two unearned runs and three hits. He walked two and struck out four. Austin Jackson tripled and singled and Nelson Cruz, Justin Ruggiano and Jesus Montero each drove in runs for the Mariners.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Joseph Young scored 30 points, Elgin Cook added 20 and Oregon held on to beat Colorado 93-85 in the Pac-12 tournament quarterfinals last night. Second-seeded Oregon (24-8) broke out from a tight game with its pressure defense, creating a string of turnovers to build an 18-point second-half lead.

LAS VEGAS (AP) – Isiah Umipig scored 17 points and the game-winning free throw and third-seeded Seattle rallied to beat No. 6 seed Chicago State 49-45 last night in the Western Athletic Conference tournament. The Redhawks (15-14) advance to face second-seeded UMKC in a semifinal today.

MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) – Mikh McKinney scored 24 points, Dylan Garrity added 22 and third-seeded Sacramento State beat sixth-seeded Portland State 70-60 in the Big Sky Conference quarterfinals yesterday. Cody Demps added 13 points for the Hornets (20-10), who advanced to a semifinal game with No. 2 seed Eastern Washington today.
