PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Public health officials are asking parents of University of Oregon students to get their children vaccinated against meningitis. The say that the campus outbreak is far from over. The latest case is a 20-year-old sophomore man who went to a clinic with flu-like symptoms. One student has died in the outbreak.

RHODODENDRON, Ore. (AP) – Federal agents say they don’t think anything criminal was involved after a person was found dead near the site of an explosion along U.S. Highway 26 on the flanks of Oregon’s Mount Hood. A spokesman for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives says investigators believe there was just one person present when an explosion took place early yesterday.

CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) – Corvallis police have arrested a former Oregon State University student accused of sexually assaulting a woman while she showered in her home near the campus. The Oregonian reports the man is also under investigation in break-ins at nearby homes and dormitories. OSU says students were notified yesterday about the assault and break-ins.

OMAHA, Neb. (AP) – Oregon coach Dana Altman is back in Omaha, about 90 miles from where he grew up as the 8th-seed Ducks take on No. 9 Oklahoma State tonight. Altman coached Creighton for 16 years, the last half of them in the same arena where the Ducks and Cowboys will meet.
