PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A jury has acquitted a Portland man charged with killing his wife after what was described as a suicide pact left her dead and him wounded. The couple had left a signed suicide note outlining their reasons for wanting to die on March 2, 2013. Lloyd Erp and his wife Lori each suffered two bullet wounds to the head. A jury deadlocked in an earlier trial and a mistrial was declared.

WOODBURN, Ore. (AP) – Woodburn police say a 37-year-old woman who reported that she was sexually assaulted by four young men made the whole thing up. Police say the woman confessed she was lying early Monday when she told police she was attacked while delivering newspapers. She was treated at a hospital for minor injuries that turned out to be self-inflicted.
