The city’s Bureau of Planning and Sustainability is asking for $600,000 to launch a process to examine the issue.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A high school student from Portland has won an international bridge building contest. ONTARIO, Ore. (AP) – Oregon wildlife official say they’ve found a boat being hauled from Ohio infested with invasive mussels. Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife says technicians discovered the Zebra mussels on a boat at the Ontario boat inspection station. Motorists hauling boats in Oregon are required to stop at inspection stations to have their watercraft checked for aquatic invasive species under a 2011 Oregon law.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) – The low winter snow pack may have some positive consequences for some outdoor enthusiasts. The Spokesman-Review newspaper reports river rafters may get to see some new territory this spring and summer with lower river flows. A spokesman with ROW Adventures in Coeur d’Alene says high water forces guides to avoid some areas because they are too dangerous. When the water is lower, more territory can be navigated and river rafters may see some new vistas this year.
