Here is the latest Washington, Oregon and Alaska sports news from The Associated Press

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – Kyle Seager hit his 11th home run with a solo shot in the eighth, Taijuan Walker struck out six in seven innings, and the Seattle Mariners beat the San Francisco Giants 5-1 last night. Logan Morrison hit a go-ahead single in the fifth to support Walker (4-6), who outpitched Tim Hudson (4-6) to win consecutive starts for the first time all season. The right-hander earned his first interleague victory after going 0-3 in his first three.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) – The Seattle Mariners recalled outfielder James Jones from Triple-A Tacoma yesterday for his first stint on the big league roster this season. Jones has spent the entire season with Tacoma, batting .264 with a home run and 13 RBIs in 48 games.

ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) – Robbie Ray allowed two hits over seven scoreless innings in his 10th major league start, and the Arizona Diamondbacks got home runs from Paul Goldschmidt and Yasmany Tomas in a 7-3 victory over the Los Angeles Angels last night. Ray (2-1) struck out three and walked two in his fourth start of the season, dropping his ERA to 1.09.

UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. (AP) – The courtship of Chambers Bay is underway for a U.S. Open unlike any other. Some of the flags on the greens might as well be there for decoration. Robert Streb was playing to the fourth green when he consulted with his caddie and realized his best line was the third USGA logo from the left on a large grandstand.
