Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports:
The Three Rivers Sandblasters scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to cement a 5-2 league victory over the Mid Valley Rockets in Florence. The ‘Blasters put up 11 hits… Scott Gordon was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two singles; Ricky Jones was also 3-for-4. He had two RBI.
Jonathan Bennison scattered eight hits over eight innings of work for the win. Matthew Engholm gave up three hits and one run in the ninth, but got out of a jam for the save.
The Sandblasters are in Albany this evening where they’ll take on the Rockets in two games under the lights. The first game begins at four… the pregame show on KCST is at 3:45.
Emeralds clinch series win
The Eugene Emeralds used a bases-loaded walk-off single for a 5-4 win over the Tri-City Dust Devils last night. Pinch hitter Justin Marra delivered the winning stroke. Eugene leads the series 3-1; they wrap up tonight at PK Park.
