Taking a look at Coast Radio Sports:

The Sandblasters were stifled at the plate yesterday, going two-for-24 as a team, in a 4-2 tournament loss to the EnFuego Elite in Seattle.

Kyle Springer took the loss on the mound, throwing a complete seven-inning game.

The Sandblasters will face the Seattle Braves today; then have two games tomorrow: against the EnFuego Futures and the Queen City Reds. They’ll wrap up the Mickey Merriam Tournament Sunday.

Ian Happ hit a solo home run in the top of the 11th and the Eugene Emeralds held off the Hillsboro Hops for a 2-1 victory at Ron Tonkin Stadium last night.

The win puts the Emeralds solidly in the lead in the Southern Division of the Northwest League with a two-game lead over the Hops.

Happ scored both of the Emeralds runs in the effort. He scored with two-outs in the top of the ninth to tie the game at one-all.

The two teams finalize their three game series in Hillsboro tonight. The Emeralds will be back at PK Park tomorrow where they’ll begin a five game series against Vancouver.
