Emeralds make headway in the Palouse

The Eugene Emeralds made headway last night in Pasco as they thwarted and attempt by the Dust Devils to drop them to 0 and 3 on their current road trip. Although the Ems did trail 2-1 after 8 innings but a spark in the 9th with several hits and a bunt single put two runners in scoring position enabling third baseman Thomas Gavello to drive in the winning runs with a sharp left field single.  Ems closer Hunter Dula came in for the final inning and after a wild pitch and a fly out he retired the side with a pair of strikeouts.  Final 3-2 Ems.

Elsewhere in the league Vancouver defeated Hillsboro 6-5 and Everett defeated Spokane 7-3.  The ems finish up this weekend in Pasco with games tonight, tomorrow and Sunday.
