DENVER (AP) – Felix Hernandez pitched effectively into the seventh inning, Nelson Cruz homered in a fourth consecutive game to reach 30 for the season, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Colorado Rockies 8-7 last night. Kyle Seager homered on the front end of back-to-back shots with Cruz, and Brad Miller added a solo shot among his three hits for the Mariners, who have won three of four since dropping four straight.

ATLANTA (AP) – Adonis Garcia hit a two-run homer in the 12th inning off Ryan Vogelsong and the Atlanta Braves completed their final comeback of the game, beating the San Francisco Giants 9-8 last night. Down 6-0 against Matt Cain going into the sixth, the Braves rallied with four runs. A.J. Pierzynski hit a two-run homer with two outs in the ninth off Santiago Casilla, tying it at 7.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Marcus Mariota gave the Tennessee Titans a momentary scare last night when he scrambled and ran to the sideline where he collided with a scout. But, Mariota popped right back up and headed to the sideline. The No. 2 draft pick overall out of Oregon finished the practice completing 11 of 15 passes in team and seven-on-seven drills combined.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Eagles linebacker Travis Long has torn the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee for the second straight year. Long was injured in practice yesterday on the second day of training camp. The second-year pro missed last season after injuring his ACL in the final preseason game. Long tore his right ACL during his senior year at Washington State in 2012.
