DENVER (AP) – Nelson Cruz homered for the fifth consecutive game, and the Seattle Mariners spoiled Jon Gray’s major league debut with a 10-4 victory over the Colorado Rockies last night. It is the second time this season Cruz has gone deep in five straight games. He also singled to extend his hitting streak to 15 games. Gray, the third overall pick in the 2013 draft, had a rough beginning to his big league career. Seattle touched him for two runs during a 33-pitch first inning.

DENVER (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have recalled right-hander Mayckol Guaipe from Triple-A Tacoma and optioned reliever Jose Ramirez to the Rainiers. Guaipe was 0-4 with a 3.02 ERA 34 appearances with Tacoma, including a 1.42 ERA in his last 15 appearances with the Rainiers. He is 0-2 with an 8.31 ERA in two previous stints with Seattle.

DENVER (AP) – The Colorado Rockies have recalled right-hander Jon Gray from Triple-A Albuquerque. Gray made his major league debut against the Mariners. In a corresponding move the Rockies optioned reliever Gonzalez Germen to Albuquerque.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) – Marcus Semien hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning to help Chris Bassitt earn his first win this season and the Oakland Athletics beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-0 last night. Brett Lawrie added an RBI triple and Eric Sogard scored twice as Oakland won for only the third time in 12 games.
