DENVER (AP) – Michael McKenry hit a two-out, two-run homer in the 11th inning and the Colorado Rockies rallied to beat the Seattle Mariners 7-5 yesterday. McKenry ended the 4-hour, 7-minute game when he hit Mayckol Gauipe’s 2-2 curveball into the left-field seats for his fourth home run of the season. It was McKenry’s first walk-off hit in his career.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) – Lamar Neagle scored for Seattle in the 72nd minute and the Sounders tied the Vancouver Whitecaps 1-1 in a CONCACAF Champions League game last night. Tim Parker replied for the Whitecaps as both clubs opened Group F play. Neagle scored off a free kick that looped over the penalty area to Andy Rose on the right. He sent a ball back into the box to Neagle and he fired a shot high over Paolo Tornaghi.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – Kam Chancellor’s holdout from Seattle Seahawks’ training camp has extended to a sixth day. The second-team All-Pro strong safety was absent again from camp yesterday as he continues to seek a new contract from the team. Head coach Pete Carroll said it’s an issue of concern for both sides. Carroll said he has not had any communication with Chancellor in a few days.

RENTON, Wash. (AP) – The Seattle Seahawks have activated All-Pro free safety Earl Thomas from the physically unable to perform list, raising hopes he’ll be ready for the regular-season opener. Seattle announced Thomas had passed his physical and been added to the active roster following practice.
