PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Yamhill County deputies say they rescued a man who had been reported missing for several days after his vehicle ran out of gas in Willamina. The Oregonian reports that Timothy John Marsh was found in the rural area yesterday. The Gulf War veteran told deputies he survived on dog food and his military training.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Police say a young man has died in a shooting on a sidewalk in North Portland. The Oregonian reports Red Cross nurse Karen Dieringer heard the shots and then saw two men running down the sidewalk “as fast as they could.” Police say the suspects may have run and then left the area in a silver vehicle. Portland Police Bureau’s Gang Enforcement Team is investigating.

SALEM, Ore. (AP) – A two-time contestant on the TV show “Survivor” has announced her next adventure: seeking a seat in Oregon’s statehouse. The Oregonian reports that Laura Morett, a Republican, says she’s challenging Rep. Paul Evans, a Salem Democrat. Republicans are eager to reclaim the seat that Evans won in 2014.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – LaMarcus Aldridge scored 23 points in his return to Portland, leading the San Antonio Spurs to a 113-101 victory over the Trail Blazers last night. Aldridge played nine seasons in Portland before leaving as a free agent this summer. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 22 points. Portland has lost three straight.
