PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – The National Weather Service has issued an ice storm warning in areas east of Portland, Salem and Sweet Home in Oregon and areas east of Kelso and Vancouver in Washington. The warning is in effect until 9 a.m. for areas below 2,500 feet for the north Oregon and south Washington Cascade Mountains, and for the western Columbia River Gorge.

BEND, Ore. (AP) – Bend officials are set to vote today on proposed rules governing the sale of recreational marijuana. The Bend Bulletin reports that the proposed rules require recreational marijuana stores to be distanced at least 1,000 feet from schools and 150 feet from day care centers.

KEIZER, Ore. (AP) – Authorities say a registered sex offender has been arrested for possessing thousands of child pornography files. KOIN-TV reports that Keizer police executed a search warrant at the home of 51-year-old Larry Lee Edwards on Nov. 19. Police had acted on cyber tips indicating Edwards had been posting child porn online. He has been charged with 20 counts of first-degree encouragement of child sex abuse.

MEDFORD, Ore. (AP) – The chairman of the Jackson County Board of Commissioners has been removed from his post in light of alleged ethics violations. The Mail-Tribune reports that the board voted unanimously yesterday to remove Commissioner Doug Breidenthal. His removal stems from an Oct. 22 ethics complaint filed by Jackson County about his travel expenses and contributions he has received. Breidenthal maintains that the ethics allegations are untrue.
