EUGENE, Ore. (AP) – Authorities are looking into two armed robberies near the University of Oregon campus. The robbery reports came in about 35 minutes apart on Saturday morning. Victims said a person came up to them armed with a handgun and demanded their cell phones and other items in their pockets. The Register-Guard reports that neither person was injured.

SEASIDE, Ore. (AP) – Fire officials say four homes were heavily damaged in a fire yesterday morning in Seaside. KPTV reports that three homes are expected to be a total loss. A volunteer firefighter had minor injuries but is expected to recover. No one else was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

LEBANON, Ore. (AP) – The Oregon State Police have released the names of the eight people hurt and one killed in a three-vehicle crash Thursday night near Lebanon. KGW-TV reports a Honda Civic driven by 38-year-old Janice Lee Dye, of Albany failed to stop at an intersection at Highway 34 west of Lebanon. Police say her car was hit by a van and a Subaru also collided with the Honda, cutting the Honda in half. Dye was pronounced dead at the scene.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) – A pedestrian has been struck by car and killed in Vancouver. KGW-TV reports the pedestrian was killed just before midnight on Saturday night. Vancouver police say the victim was dead when they arrived at the scene. No further information has been released about the victim or the driver.
