PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Micheal Warren scored eight of his 15 points in the final eight minutes to help Cal State Northridge pull away and beat Portland State 77-71 last night. Cal State Northridge (3-7) snapped a five-game losing streak. Portland State (3-6) has lost four straight. Tre Hale-Edmerson had 14 points for the Matadors. Calaen Robinson made seven 3-pointers and scored 21 points to lead Portland State.

KENT, Wash. (AP) – Aaron Menzies scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to lead Seattle to a 98-36 win over Northwest Indian last night. Zack Moore contributed 17 points and Jake Spurgeon had 16 for Seattle (4-6), which shot 56 percent from the floor and controlled the boards 58-23. Malik Montoya and Jadon Cohee added 10 points apiece, and Emmanuel Chibuogwu had 14 rebounds. Seattle never trailed.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Steve Mason made 36 saves and Michael Raffl and Sean Couturier each scored, leading Philadelphia over slumping Vancouver 2-0. Mason, Philadelphia’s No. 1 goalie who was making his first appearance since Dec. 8, returned to form and earned his first victory in his last eight home starts. Philadelphia has won seven of 10 overall. The Canucks lost their eighth in 10 games.

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Mariners have re-signed right-handed pitcher Hisashi Iwakuma after an agreement with the Los Angeles Dodgers was never finalized. Seattle announced the deal with Iwakuma that includes a contract for 2016 and options for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The team posted a video to its Twitter page of general manager Jerry Dipoto announcing the signing at the club’s holiday party.
