PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A church in southeast Portland was heavily damaged in an early morning fire. KATU-TV reports crews were called to Eastside Free Methodist church just before 2 a.m. yesterday. An arson investigator responded.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Portland police are investigating after a newborn was found dead in a home on Southeast Stark Street. East Precinct officers were called to the home at about 11:30 a.m. yesterday on a report that a deceased infant was at the home. Officers learned that a woman at the home had been taken to the hospital earlier in the day.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Federal and local investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify additional victims after a Portland-area school district employee was arrested on a child pornography charge. The Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office says James McGlothin worked with special needs students. He was arrested Friday and is expected to make his initial appearance in federal court today.

SEATTLE (AP) – Coast Guard crews and local responders rescued two surfers and a helper after they got into trouble near the Grays Harbor South Jetty. A Jayhawk helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Astoria in Warrenton, Oregon hoisted two females and one male on Saturday and took them to nearby medical personnel.
