PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will hold a public rally in Portland tomorrow. The event takes place at 12:45 p.m. at the Moda Center with doors opening at 9:45 a.m. The Vermont senator has made stops throughout Washington state ahead of Saturday’s caucuses there. After the Portland event, he’ll head to Seattle for a rally at Safeco Field tomorrow night.

WARRENTON, Ore. (AP) – A Coast Guard helicopter crew has rescued a 16-year-old boy who fell up to 200 feet while hiking near Multnomah Falls. Sheriff’s deputies say the Troutdale boy fell near the top of Angel’s Rest trailhead yesterday. Officials say an off-duty paramedic and emergency doctor were hiking in the area at the time and stabilized the teen on the side of a cliff.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – A man who burglarized a Portland home and was found sitting on a toilet with a knife in his hand has been sentenced to 3 ½ years in prison. The Oregonian reports that court records say Ryan Allen Cain was found by the homeowner in the bathroom. The two men got into a fight, and the resident was able to grab Cain’s knife and get him to leave. Cain told a judge he had been high on meth at the time.

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) – Damian Lillard had 27 points and six assists and the Portland Trail Blazers beat the Dallas Mavericks 109-103 last night. The Blazers won for the first time against the team chasing them in the Western Conference standings.
