Prep volleyball and Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw Volleyball standout Makenzie York is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The sophomore hitter sealed the deal in a Far West League match against Douglas last week, scoring 21 kills on the night. That was on top of the eight kills she recorded earlier in the week against Brookings-Harbor.
Her teammate, Elyssa Rose, earned honorable mention… she had 13 kills against the Trojans and eight against Brookings-Harbor.
York and Rose, along with the rest of the Vikings, are on the road this evening in North Bend where they’ll face the Bulldogs. The Mapleton Sailors are also on the court this evening. They’re at home against Oak Hill.
