Mohawks downs Sailors in Mapleton
Hunter Simington scored 13 points for the Sailors; Dominic Wells had 8 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots, but the visiting Mohawk Indians managed to hold off Mapleton 52-46 last night. The Sailors will be back on the court this evening when they host the Eddyville Eagles… the boys tipoff at six.
Athlete of the Week
Siuslaw basketball standout Kyle King is Coast Radio Sports’ Athlete of the Week. The junior forward matched a season high 17 points and pulled down 12 rebounds in the Vikings’ Far West League victory last week over the Douglas Trojans.
Honorable mention goes to Siuslaw bowler Abby Coday. The junior kegler was named the season MVP, then went on to win the same honor at the District Tournament in North Bend.
